The KUJANE Repository was created in June 2019. This repository stores and disseminates the scientific and academic production of public and private colombian Higher Education Institutions, Research Institutes/Centers and other organizations; it also offers open access to scientific articles from national journals indexed by Minciencias, technical reports, doctoral thesis and master's degree projects.
KUJANE or KUJANA: means "to know" (know-how) in the language of the SIKUANI people "(indigenous people that inhabit eastern Colombia between the Guaviare, Meta and Arauca rivers). Thus, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation - Minciencias called" KUJANE ”to the information repository of scientific and academic production created in June 2019.
The purpose of this repository is to collect information from each of the Colombian institutions that have repositories of the following types of products:
Those Colombian institutions that wish to make visible the production of doctoral theses and master's degree works must be part of the repositories of the Colombian Network of Scientific Information RedCol: http://redcol.colciencias.gov.co/vufind/
The KUJANE National repository is an open access tool created by Minciencias whose objective is to offer online access to national academic and scientific production as an input for the country's scientific and technological development.
This System is composed of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation - Minciencias, Ministry of National Education - MEN, Colombian Public and Private Higher Education Institutions, Research Institutes / Centers and other organizations that express a commitment to the promotion of Knowledge production in Open Access and participate with its institutional repositories.
Each participating entity as an autonomous entity undertakes to adapt the configuration of its institutional repository in order to align with the open science policy; promote the promotion of the use and appropriation of Colombian scientific production; connect, articulate and energize services, collections and knowledge.
